Stuart has been a skier for almost 42 years. He learned to ski on dry slopes and raced slalom in the summer race league. Following a brief rest from the skis at University, he had a (misguided!) fleeting, foray into snowboarding. Since then, Stuart has enjoyed learning classic and skating langlauf, enjoys regular ski touring and has worked as a skiing instructor in Austria. It was here, in Austria, some 15 years ago, that he was taught the craft of hand servicing skis by the race technician who looked after a pretty famous Austrian, World Cup Ladies, Slalom Skier.

In 2024, Stuart went on to consolidate and further train in machine servicing and boot fitting with ex GB Racer, Callum Highet, Technical Director at Anything Technical in Kendal.

Stuart is a perfectionist.
